The Autokin Flag
Autokin is an identity revolving in not identifying as anything. People who are autokin do not identify as any species (fictional or real), but only as their own self. Autokin fundamentally identify as themselves and nothing else.
“Suppose I was transformed into a mouse, I would be a mouse, not a human in a mouse body… Alternatively, if I had been born as another species than Homo sapiens, I would still be me” describes autokin Darengmaze on Reddit.[1] The identity autokin revolves around the view of “if I transformed into another species, I would not be me in a different body, I would remain myself.” For example: A therian identifies as an animal in a human body (though therianthropy is not limited to said view) while an autokin would identify as whatever species they are without the attached idea that they would still be their original species if put in another body.
The autokin described on this page is not related to the MOGAI sexuality label of autokin (Autoromantic, autosexual, etc.)[2] The sexuality label of autokin is described as an attraction towards your kin (as in attraction to those with the same kintype.) This article is NOT about that sexuality label.
