Demihuman

The word demihuman is used in multiple conflicting ways in the otherkin and greater alterhuman communities. Some major definitions are:

• An umbrella term for fantasy humanoid kintypes such as elves, dwarves and orcs.
• A label for people who have lost touch with their humanity, often due to trauma.
• A descriptor for forms which are partially human and partially animal, "whose permanent appearance looks as if it's mid-transformation".
