Holokin is a self-identifier term under the Alterhuman and Physical Alterhuman Identities (PAI) for individuals who are "physically and fundamentally nonhuman in every way." The term was coined by Millie218 on Reddit, on January 18, 2025 after they made a post to address the need for a more general term to talk about PAI, as the only term that existed so far was "Holothere". But based on the etymology of holothere, it only fitted those who identified as a non-human animal specifically. Thus, Millie218 wanted to create a more general term for all sorts of physical alter-types, not just animals, similar to the "otherkin" label.

Etymology[]
The term "holokin" comes from Greek and English roots:
- "Holo-": ολοσ meaning "entirely"
- "Kin(d)": meaning "a group of people or things having similar characteristics."
Phonetically, it is pronounced [hol-oh-kin / hɒləʊkɪn].
Thus, "holokin" can widly be translated to "entirely of another kind / entirely otherkin".

Holokin can be used to describe individuals who identify as entirely nonhuman:
