Oceankin is a subcategory of otherkin who believe they are connected spiritually, identify as, or have the soul of an ocean. The ocean they are may not be one on Earth and may instead be fictional or alien. Oceankin may feel a connection to the vastness of the sea and feel comforted being near the ocean. Oceankin may enjoy collecting seashells, rocks, driftwood, or other things related to the ocean or the beach.
Oceankin may feel protective of aquatic creatures such as fish or aquatic mammals. They may be very interested in learning about their inhabitants and advocating for their protection from overfishing and pollution.
