Placekin, also referred to as Locationkin, is a subdivision of alterhumanity pertaining to all of those who identify as a place, be it real, extinct, fictional, spiritual, conceptual, etc. This identity may align with a named location (such as a country, city, or state), evironment, biome, landform, body of water, building, road, planet, celestial body, etc. It is up to the individual if they will call themselves placekin or not.

Placekinity follows the same concepts as any other form of otherkinity, being that someone identifies as a place by spiritual or psychological means. One may also have a heart-home, hiraeth, placekith, placelink or some similar identity and choose to associate themselves in the alterhuman or placekin communities.

Placekinity is simply another form of alterhuman identity that just so happens to revolve around places, not sentient beings. In some cases, though, the place is fictional and sentient, or one may interpret physical land as sentient according to their own beliefs. The experience is subjective to each being, and there is no definitive way to experience being placekin.
