A therianthrope is someone who involuntarily identifies as a non-human animal/creature.

Therianthropes do not choose this identity, and can experience species dysphoria, this can be heavy or light, or may not even happen at all.

Therians can identify as currently living animals, extinct animals (paleotherian), mythical creatures (theriomythic), and even fictional animals (fictherian).

Therians may experience shifts, and are in fact the group that coined the term. Terminology has been invented to describe types of shift, such as phantom shifts and mental shifts.

Therianthropy is not a simple topic and there are wide ranges of identity, not every therian is the same.
